Back in business

During the past two weeks I haven´t train that much. Only easy running although last sunday I ran around 18 kilometres. That run was too long, because at the 15 kilometre mark I felt that this is enough. It is always very easy to start to train too soon.
During this week I have done two runs. Because I do all my workouts around 6 am, my training has been very easy: during the morninghours it is sometimes harder to run with ease comparing to those workouts that are done during the afternoon or evening.
Anyway at this moment I might say that I´m back in business, and from next monday I starting to hammer down kilometres one byt one. I haven´t made any program for my racing for the next several weeks. I´m going to run one or two 10 kilometres and one halfmarathon between july and october. And after that the New York City marathon is my next big target. In New York I´m setting my goal a bit later, but 2.40 would be good for the marathon.
I´m also back in business with Jarkko Järvenpää. Some time ago he came back from United States, and now he is ready to start the track season. At the moment all looks good. We have done some track workouts, and tuesday he ran 10 kilometres just to see his anaerobic thresholdlevel.

His pace at the beginning was around three minutes, but soon his speed slowed down just a bit. At the of the workout his time was 31.02 for the ten kilometres. Not bad at all. I think he ran more that a minute faster than last time.
Next week we are going to see him in action one or two times. He is going to run 1500 metres for sure, but we are still thinking whether to do 5000 metres the day after.
I´ll let you know.
