Stockholm is getting closer
There are only three weeks to before the Stockholm marathon. For the past three months my training has been ok, although there has been some minor problems because of the other more important responsiblities.
Next week is perhaps the most important one before the marathon. During the next seven days all runners could practice well, but at the same time they must remember, that all the major workouts are allready done. If one practices too much during the next week then there is a chance that recovery doesn´t happen as hoped. When runner has two weeks to go before the Stockholm marathon and he feels tired then he should sit down and make real adjustments to his training in order to recover properly.
One week ago I ran halfmarathon in Helsinki, and after that my training has been quite ok. Last sunday I jogged one hour. On monday I did easy weight training with 30 minutes water running. Tuesday morning I ran 14 and wednesday 16 kilometres. The most important workout I ran on thursday. My plan was to run three hours with good pace. The goal was reached by running three hours and 4 minutes. I have some measured marks and according to them my pace for each kilometre was around 4.15-25. After the practice I measured the distance from the map, and according that the distance I covered was around 41 kilometres.
Practice was a good one, but for two hours I had a great chance to run with the biker. After I had ran around one hour I met the familiar runner from our team, and he was biking. After we passed each other, he turned back, and then we stayed together for the rest of my practice. Some time ago he was in a very serious car accident, so it is a miracle that he can already practice. We talked about training, familiar figures we both know and also about life. Life is a gift so every day is meant to be lived 100 percent. That was our conclusion.
My own life has been a mess for a several years, but at this point I finally know the miracle of life. So every dance I do I must do it with all I have, because I never know which dance is going to be the last one for me.
Thank you once again bikerman!
But back to running for a little while. Friday was a rest day, and yesterday I ran only eight kilometres. This morning I ran 18 kilometres, and 30 minutes out of that was done at my anaerobic speed. This workout I started 8.45 am, and the speed for each kilometres varied between 3.25 and 3.40. At the end of the workout my pulse was 168-70, and I recovereryed well. After four minutes my pulse was 96 beats per minute.
More writing later. I wish good workouts for all the readers. And if there is someone going to the Stockholm marathon then be very careful how you train. During the next three weeks there is not much to do anymore, it is time to recover and then during the race it is time to enjoy about the marathon.
