Helsinki City Run is done
During the last week I didn´t train that much. The reason for that is my training on 30th of april. Like always I did my workout just after 6 am, and after warmup I ran 5 times 5 minutes with 2-3 minutes recovery. Workout was very good, but I should have done only four sprints. After friday I was sort of out of game for a few days. From saturday to thursday I felt tired and I only ran easy workouts. Last friday I was unable to say how my halfmarathon would go the very next day at the Helsinki City Run.
Helsinki City Run was good to me. I started the race with ease. My first kilometer was around 3.25, and I was not surprised to see so many runners in front of me. I suppose there were around 40 runners faster than me at that point, but gradually I started to better my position.
All the to around 13 kilometers I ran with someone else. After that I was running by myself. From that point I was running around 50 meters behind of small group of runners. I reached them at the 18 kilometer mark, and three out of five could not follow me after I took the lead. The last three kilometers were just as good as the first 18 kilometers. After the finishline I felt fine and I recovered fast. My time was 1.17..27 and I was 13th.
Today I still have around two weeks time to train for the Stockholm marathon. On thursday I´ll do three hours, and that is going to be the last long run although on sunday I might do more than two hours. During the weekdays my runs are between 14 and 18 kilometers. I haven´t decided my goal to Stockholm, but 2.45-50 would be good enough for me.
Although my condition is just fine, one must always approach marathon with respect.
